The SOMMa Alliance participated in Science 4 Industry, the leading international event focused on Deep Science, innovation, and technology transfer, held in Madrid. The event brought together research institutions, companies, and investors to accelerate the transformation of scientific excellence into market-ready solutions.
Bridging Research Excellence and Industry
At Science 4 Industry, SOMMa showcased high-impact projects developed at Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu centers of excellence, reinforcing their role as key drivers of innovation. The alliance acted as a bridge between cutting-edge research and industry, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Technologies with Real-World Impact
Among the highlighted initiatives were sustainable energy solutions from ICIQ, advanced neutron dosimetry technologies developed by IFIC, and a portable device with fNIR (functional near-infrared spectroscopy) technology called THEIA, based on artificial intelligence for early cognitive assessment, presented by Newmanbrain, a spin-off company from the Institute of Neurosciences. These examples demonstrate the great potential of publicly funded research to generate industrial and social value.

Driving Innovation Through Knowledge Transfer
Through its presence at Science 4 Industry, SOMMa reaffirms its commitment to promoting knowledge transfer, supporting innovation, and maximizing the impact of scientific research on industry and society.
