VI International Congress on Artificial Intelligence

Pablo Belmonte, CEO of Newmanbrain, participated in the VI International Congress on Artificial Intelligence during the discussion "AI IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH: ADVANCES AND RIGHTS" organized by the digital newspaper El Independiente.

Privacy, the misuse of huge amounts of data, the veracity of texts and images, the algorithmic biases that are imposed, corporate concentration…. The invisible walls that frame a technology that is increasingly integrated into everyday life.

Faced with the mass marketing of text generators, experts such as Geoffrey Hinton, former head of engineering at Google, warn of the dangers of AI and other figures from the technological field, academia or the field of art ask for time to face the risks.

While Europe has been working for two years on a regulation, the AI Act, we are still uncertain about the risks, consequences and implications of a massive development and integration of Artificial Intelligence in society. Can we put gates to the field?

This is the new challenge that we will discuss at the VI International Congress on Artificial Intelligence organized by El Independiente on this occasion.

We will have two keynote lectures. The first one will be given by Asunción Gómez Pérez, vice-rector of Research, Innovation and Doctorate at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and member of the Royal Spanish Academy, and the second one will be given by Mark Coeckelbergh, professor of Philosophy of Media and Technology at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Vienna. In addition, and bringing us closer to the sectors where the transformative potential of AI is developing at the fastest pace, experts and representatives of the largest companies will discuss the challenges and concerns that may affect Health, Education and Talent and Security.
